Planted by the step is a Pittosporum tenuifolium. The patio area with the customers patio dining set. The wall makes excellent additional seating. The white rendered wall contrasts well with the black slate paving. The fence was painted green to soften the impact of the boundary on the garden. Raised bed planted with: Hamamelis, Juniperus, Lavandula, Geranium, Hebe, Sedum and Phormium. the Customer also added their own pots to the garden. This softens the corners of the patio. Show the extent of the planting in the garden, from a seated aspect. Using a random bond in the paving, gives the patio extra interest. Callistemon rigidus. the bright flower of the bottle brush. Close up of the transition from wall to step to lawn. This close up shows the rough finish texture of the rendered wall. View from inside the customer conservatory.

In this project our brief was; to create a raised lawned area with walled patio, replace and move existing shed, re-direct the fencing to gain extra space from the top of the drive, improve drainage. To raise the lawn, we created sweeping, rendered white, walls with soft planting behind. The patio was paved with black slate, sugesting a contempory look. The planting was comprised from a selection of specimen shrubs and perennials planted for all year round colour.
